Texas On Tour - Interactive Traveling Showcase
Project Overview
Texas Tourism is known for elaborate nationwide tours to promote the state of Texas as a desirable spot for people to visit. For this tour, they wanted to develop an incredibly unique and interactive experience to take on tour with them. We had created an interactive touch-based system that allowed users to register a passport via an iPad and walk up to one of six enormous kiosks to explore Texas, play games and win prizes. Each experience consisted of an 80” display on the left, a 55” touch display on the right an RFID reader, (2) directional speakers for audio and a camera for gesture based interactions.
Once the user was registered at the check in station, they would walk up to the kiosk and scan their RFID enabled passport to start their own personalized experience and play (5) different games to get virtual stamps in their passport for each of the topics available. We tested their knowledge of Texas musicians, had them climb giant rock walls, herd cattle, jet ski the Texas waters and train dolphins with gesture technology. Once they were done, their scores were saved and they would win prizes when they scanned their passport at the checkout station.
